Australian netballer and captain of the national team, Sharelle McMahon was announced last night as Australia's flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. She will become the first netballer to carry the Australian flag in the history of the games. This has given the Australian netball team even more motivation to go out and perform. The Diamonds are looking for revenge after they lost to New Zealand by 5 points in the 2006 Commonwealth Games netball final in Melbourne.
I think that it is good to see all sports being recognised, She is a great athlete and role model and she deserves this huge privilege.
