On the last day of campaigning Tony Abbot and Julia Gillard have put in multiple appearances on breakfast television and talkback radio.
Julia Gillard said she would be "devastated" if Mr. Abbott is elected Prime Minister, labeling him a risk to families. She talked about how his claim that Work Choices would never return were just "weasel words".
Tony Abbott stayed up all night slamming Labor's Home Insulation shamble. He talked about the deaths caused and the $2.45 billion wasted. Mr. Abbott pledged to keep the unauthorised asylum seeker boats entering the country to just three a year. In a space of less than 30 hours Tony Abbott has participated in six television interviews, 14 radio interviews and visited ten electorates.
The latest news poll, published in The Australian, shows the two major parties tied on 50 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, but Labor's primary vote is down three percentage points to 35 per cent.
