St Kilda has beaten the Western Bulldogs, 13.10 (88) to 8.16 (64) to book a grand final birth against the in-form Collingwood. The Dogs led by a goal at half time but the Saints put on a show in the third quarter, kicking seven goals to one and setting up the 24 point win at the MCG on Saturday night.
I must say i didn't know who i wanted to win this one but in the end St Kilda prevailed and i felt sorry for Western Bulldog Brad Johnson because this was his last AFL game, however for the 2 teams that will play each other in the grand final it will be Collingwood's best chance of winning since 2003 and it will be St Kilda's chance for redemption after they lost the grand final last year to Geelong by 3 points.
As i sat in the plane coming home from a lovely holiday in Noosa i was intrigued to find out who was winning the game. I decided to turn on Fox Sports on the little screen in front of me and the news headlines popped up and the score was: Western Bulldogs were leading on 19 and St Kilda were on 11. This to me meant that it would be a very close encounter.
About 40 minutes before we started our descent into Melbourne the captain gave us an update on the score, St Kilda were winning by 21 points in the third quarter. After hearing this i figured that St Kilda were probably going to win and sure enough they did.
I think that this grand final will be one of the best yet, i think that Collingwood will beat the experienced Saints by about 10 points.
