Commonwealth Games village in ruins

The collapsed footbridge.
The 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games have taken another blow after the footbridge in the athletes village collapsed causing chaos and filth. As the first athletes prepare to arrive this week, there is growing concern over the athletes health and safety.

Questions are still being raised on wether or not the games will go on. All this concern has forced athletes to withdraw due to health and safety issues. In a blow for Australia, world champion discus thrower Dani Samuels has withdrawn.

I honestly think that it's not safe for the athletes to be competing in such danger. There has also been a terrorist threat for the games. I think it was a very bad idea to put the games in such a violent and poverty stricken country such as India.
