Metro Trains Mayhem

What my train looked like
I was coming home from school today via train as always and everything was running smoothly. The train stopped 2 stops into my trip to let people out. This process usually takes about 10-15 seconds.

After all the passengers got off and the new ones came on I thought, ok, lets get moving again. After about 5 minutes of not knowing what was going on the driver announced on the loud speaker that the train in front of us had been "disabled" meaning that it had stopped and thus we couldn't keep going.

I then waited for another 5 minutes because I thought that the train in front of us might start moving which would allow us to keep going. Time was ticking away and I was getting frustrated so I called my Mum and I asked her to pick me up at the station.

As I walked trudging along the platform with my bag I heard an announcement in the train so I quickly rushed inside. I was hoping that the conductor would be saying that we could keep going but I was wrong, in fact he was saying that the train was heading all the way back to its original station.

Whilst waiting for my mum to pick me up I realised many things. The train that had stopped was actually on another track heading in the opposite direction, this puzzled me because we wouldn't have hit the train if we had kept going. I noticed many irritated passengers, I noticed TV crews and the most prominent effect of all this was the traffic. The train that had stopped was standing  right in the middle of a main road. Traffic was backed up as far as my eye could see and I heard many horns being tooted as cars attempted to turn around and take a different route.

I am disappointed in Metro because this is not the first time that incidents like this have happened. Earlier in the year I was on my way to school in the morning and the train suddenly stopped at the station. Fortunately I managed to get to school on time.

Actions need to be taken and if anyone would like to comment about your stories whilst using Metro or if you have any ideas on what should be done please comment.

  1. I agree, action needs to be taken: I think you put together a syndicate, buy a horse and get everyone a skateboard and ropes so that the horse can pull you all and you can get off at whatever destination you need, no stop needed!
