Auction site Ebay says a bidder has offered £75,000 (AU$114,051) for the antler-like headpiece Princess Beatrice wore to last month’s royal wedding.The 22-year old granddaughter of the Queen Elizabeth the II dazed the public and the press with her swirling hat she wore to the wedding of her cousin Prince William to Kate Middleton.
The silk hat, designed by Philip Treacy has been compared to antlers, a toilet seat and a pretzel.
Beatrice has made the most of the hat’s publicity and put the hat on sale for charity, all proceeds will go to UNICEF and Children in Crisis.
On Saturday 38 bidders were competing for the hat, some say it could fetch up to (AU$200,000) for charity.
The auction ends today.
