Boston loses Rask for 4-6 weeks, sign Marty Turco

The Boston Bruins have learnt today that they will be without goaltender Tuukka Rask for at least the next month. Rask was forced to leave the game in the second period of Boston's 3-2 loss to the NY Islanders in Boston.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said that Rask has sustained a lower abdomen/groin strain. The Bruins needed a replacement for Rask and looked to no other than Marty Turco. This surprise move may mean that Tim Thomas will be getting a rest before the playoffs begin.

Resting Thomas before the playoffs seems all ok, but wouldn't a team rather have a warmed up and ready goalie heading into the post-season? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the Bruins do with Tim Thomas. It will also be very interesting to see how Marty Turco plays at the ripe old age of 36.
