Anaheim star, Bobby Ryan was on the receiving end of a beautiful pass along the boards from Teemu Selanne and streaked away behind Edmonton's defence . As Ryan broke away from the boards towards the goal and deked to his backhand he was tripped up by Edmonton's Ryan Whitney. This did not stop Ryan, his determination allowed him to roofed his shot past Nikolai Khabibulin.
Chris Thorburn of the Winnipeg Jets showed off his speed and stick-handling to score an equally (if not more) impressive goal. Thornburn sped past Buffalo defensemen Robyn Regehr and took him to the outside. He then made his way back towards the goal and performed a quick toe-drag deke, evading a Ryan Miller poke-check and tapping the puck in to put Winnipeg up 3 : 1.
