3 dead as NATO planes bomb Tripoli

Mideast LibyaAt least three people have been killed and 150 injured as the Libyan capital Tripoli was hammered by a NATO overhead barrage of fire.

At least 18 explosions were heard in Tripoli this morning in what seemed to be the worst night of bombing since NATO’s fight against the Muammar Gaddafi regime began.

The attacks were thought to have been mainly targeted at Gaddafi’s Bab al Aziziya compound.

NATO said in a statement that a number of the attacks hit a vehicle storage facility next to the Bab al Aziziya compound that has been used in supplying regime forces carrying out attacks on civilians.
