New internet craze “teapotting” is destined to become the latest phenomenon to dominate social media sites such as Facebook.A Facebook page for the craze has already attracted dozens of pictures and nearly 2,000 fans. Teapotting is being marketed as a safer alternative to lying flat on your stomach, face down with your arms pinned by your side as you stay motionless, a dangerous activity called "planking".
Teapotting lets enthusiasts keep their feet as they raise one arm to mimic a spout while the other forms a handle.
It's not necessary for participants to sing "I’m a little teapot", but doing so attracts more attention.
The Facebook page states: "Teapotting is delicate and understated. It is at its most amusing when achieved during a conversation with a superior, especially when they don't notice".
"Unlike Planking, Teapotting is non-hazardous. We can almost guarantee that no one will be hurt while attempting a Teapot."
