NBA: Miami Heat too hot for Celtics, take 3-1 lead in series

The Miami Heat have taken a 3-1 lead over Boston with an overtime win in Game 4 of the NBA'S Eastern Conference semi-finals in Boston today. Miami only requires one more win to make it to the NBA Eastern Conference finals in the best-of-seven series.

LeBron James led the way for Miami, scoring 35 points in the 98-90 overtime win. Miami's Dwayne Wade also chipped in with a handy 28 points, Chris Bosh completed the all-star trio with 20 points and 12 assists.
The next game will take place in Miami on Wednesday (Thursday AEST). If the Heat eliminate the defending Eastern Conference champions they will go on to face either the Chicago Bulls or the Atlanta Hawks.

Miami made big news in last year's post season when they signed LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chris Bosh from the Toronto Raptors. Miami's season was full of ups and downs but they found found their form at the right time, heading into the playoffs.

Earlier in the week the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in a 4-0 clean sweep. It is now the end of an era for the Lakers as head coach Phil Jackson calls it quits, ending a 12 year coaching career at the Lakers.

The Lakers just couldn't find an answer to Dallas as they struggled through a tough series. Los Angeles had endured a season of high hopes and expectations. They were hoping to win the championship and go back-to-back-to-back as NBA champions.
